Writing Workshop, grade 6

  • Cranford, NJ, 07016 United States (map)

In this workshop, writers will tap into their creativity and imagination by writing either stories, poems, or plays in any genre. Writers will participate in writing exercises/games, enjoy active writing time, and then share with the group for feedback. Both the exercises and the feedback will focus on important literary tools, such as character motivation, the structure of a beginning/middle/end, showing versus telling, and descriptive language. Kids will finish with either a story of their own and/or samples of the writing games they played in class. Students should bring a laptop or a notebook.

Applications for this class close on October 1. Participation is not guaranteed, this class is limited to Cranford residents and cardholders.

This free class is made possible by the Friends of the Library.
